My Remote's LED red blinks, doesn't charge, and turns off when I take it out of the Receiver.
If you're experiencing a Remote's LED that blinks red when in the Receiver can have two meanings:
1. The Receiver is not powered enough to charge the Remotes.
2. The Remote's battery is faulty.
Run these tests to verify whether it's a power issue or a battery issue.
1. Power test
You may notice that one of your Remote’s LED strip continuously red flashes when charging in the Receiver. This could indicate that the Remote cannot properly charge because the Receiver is underpowered.
If you are facing this problem, make sure it is persistent and that it is not related to an underpowered unit.
To check this, connect your Phase to a wall outlet with a brick charger delivering 5V/500mA, and monitor the LED strip of the Remote. If the red flash disappears, you will have to use a different powering method than the one you used in order to play with your Phase, such as a USB powered hub. A basic hub that doesn't have an external power supply may not deliver enough power for the Remote to charge.
2. Battery test
If the red blink persists, fully test the Remote's battery and see if the LED turns off when you take it out of the Receiver (the LED goes dark as soon as you lift off the Remote). This may mean the battery is empty, but it could also mean your Remote is faulty.
If you are facing the problem, the first thing to check is whether the Remote charges and holds it: place the Remote into the Receiver, and make sure it displays the charging animation, and that it doesn't red blink.
Allow 10 minutes to pass while the Remote is charging, and take it out again to confirm the issue. If after charging it the Remote keeps turning off when you take it out of the Receiver, then you probably have a battery issue, so get in touch with us by filling up the contact form below?.
If our support team confirms the issue, they're going to exchange the Remote for a new one and cover the shipping fees. It will be processed faster if you directly add a video showing that it turns off when you take it out of the Receiver. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions about the exchange process in the free text field of the contact form.
