The sound quality of my tracks seems to be bad.
Symptom and description
Your Phase is properly set up but your tracks are played in a bad quality: you can hear distortion, the tracks are muffled or downsampled.
The reading of your tracks, even with a bad quality, means that Phase is sending a signal to your Mixer or DVS interface, so you should be able to solve the issue by following the guidelines below, so check them to ensure you have properly set up Phase with your DJ equipment :
- Make sure the audio outputs of Phase are connected to the Line inputs of your mixer and not to the Phono inputs. Make sure you’ve also set your DJ software’s inputs accordingly, and possibly your mixer’s utility as well.
- Try using other RCA cables, since faulty ones may provide a poor signal quality.
- If you’re using Phase with Serato DJ Pro, we recommend to use Phase in HID mode, as described in this setup article. If you want to use Phase in DVS mode (with RCA cables), check the calibration scopes: a perfect circle indicates that your problem is not related to Phase itself; a noisy scope means the signal reception is bad, so we recommend to double check the input connections and the cables.
In case you checked the connections and the cables but you still have a noisy scope, use the contact form below to get in touch with us. Please attach a video file showing the signal quality on the calibration scope and your connections so the support team can efficiently help you.
