I have the feeling the pitch varies when I play my tracks.
Symptom and description
In some rare cases, it may happen that the pitch value displayed in your DJ software does not reflect the exact value of your turntable pitch slider, or that it doesn’t precisely stick to a fix value.
Follow these directions to get a better pitch cohesiveness between your DJ software and on your turntables’ sliders.
- Run a manual calibration from Phase Manager’s settings (calibration menu). Your Phase has to be connected to your computer to do so. Before doing so, make sure your pitch sliders are set on +/- 0 pitch.
- If you’re using Serato DJ Pro, we recommend to use Phase in HID mode, as described in this setup article.
- If you’re using Rekordbox, you can adjust the noise level by clicking the “start” button in the DVS settings while your turntables are spinning. This should reduce BPM fluctuations.
If you notice unexpected and sudden pitch variations, you may have inadvertently triggered a Double tap calibration while the pitch slider of your turntable was on a value different than zero. If this happens too often, you can disable the feature in the Calibration menu of Phase Manager and run it manually by clicking on the “Start” button instead.
